Review: Rocks Off Chaiamo Vibrator

The Rocks Off Chaiamo is an absolute powerhouse of a bullet vibrator! Considering its price, this toy’s vibrations are impressively rumbly.

Measuring 6.3 inches long, with a 1.2″ diameter, the Chaiamo is on the larger side for a bullet vibrator. Despite some initial concerns about it feeling bulky in use, I found that the larger surface was easier to hold. Thanks to its size, the toy is more comfortable to use for long periods of time.

Design

The Chaiamo’s body is plastic and covered in a silky, matte silicone. Mine is a bright sea foam green color, but it also comes in black or maroon. I was pleased to discover that it is neither a lube monster nor a dust magnet, as some other matte silicone toys can be. A metallic accent covers the end of the vibrator, near the power button. I’m assuming that this material is plastic, but it seems quite sturdy. I’ve tried scratching it a few times, to no avail.

Considering how strong the vibrations are, the battery life is pretty good! Iā€™m usually able to get around 4 hours of use before needing to recharge via magnetic USB. The Chaiamo has a red “low battery” light that turns on, which I highly appreciate. There is nothing worse than your vibrator dying mid-session without warning, and the light prevents that from happening.[1]Okay, fine. There are worse things that could happen, but it’s still pretty upsetting.

Materials & Care

The Rocks Off Chaiamo is made from silicone and ABS hard plastic, which are both body-safe materials. I usually clean it with unscented soap and water, but sometimes I use toy cleaning wipes when I’m feeling lazy.

For a deeper clean, I like to give the Chaiamo a quick wipedown with a 70% isopropyl alcohol pad. While rubbing alcohol can be great for sterilizing purposes, it’s important to wash toys thoroughly afterwards to avoid irritation.

Accessibility

This bullet vibrator has a single on/off button. That means that if I want to go back and forth between power levels, I have to either a.) Cycle through all 10 settings or b.) Turn the whole thing off and back on again. Since I only consistently use the first couple of settings, I usually opt for the latter. The button requires a moderate amount of applied pressure, which can be a two-handed operation at times.

Some of the vibrations do transfer to my hand in use, but because of the toyā€™s size and shape, they’re mostly absorbed by my palm. This is more tolerable for me, since most of my grip issues are related to my finger joints, but YMMV.

In terms of grip, the vibratorā€™s silicone is relatively comfortable to hold on to. It can, however, get slippery when covered in lube. Thankfully, itā€™s also waterproof, which makes it easier to clean up said lube afterwards.

My Experience

The Rocks Off Chaiamo has 10 functions that deliver some serious power in use. It has three steady speeds, all of which are delightfully rumbly. There is a slight buzziness at the highest steady speed, but it’s tolerable. Thankfully, the vibrations never reach the level of buzziness that makes my entire genital region goes numb. Although Iā€™d consider myself to be somewhat of a power monarch, the lowest speed on the Chaiamo is often enough to get me off. In contrast, I canā€™t orgasm with my Magic Wand Rechargeable unless itā€™s on the third highest setting.

There are also seven patterns. Three of them pulse on and off, and three of them gradually increase and decrease power levels. My notes describe the last setting as ā€œWTF is this?ā€ which is an accurate depiction of its slightly chaotic and inconsistent pattern.

Due to the vibratorā€™s shape, I can easily change up the amount of sensation and pressure applied. I usually alternate between grinding against the side for broad stimulation, and using the flat tip for clitoral hood stimulation. The pointed tip is often too intense for me, but could work well for those who prefer pinpoint stimulation.

The Chaiamo be used internally or externally, but itā€™s not anal safe due to the lack of a flared base. While its shape is great for external stimulation, it doesnā€™t work as well for me internally. This bullet vibrator lacks a curve, which is not ideal for my tastes. Although the Chaiamo’s flat head feels nice against my g-spot, itā€™s not the most intuitive to use. Because I am fat, disabled and not very acrobatic, the 4.7ā€ insertable length is too short for me to thrust.

I briefly experimented with inserting the Chaiamo, turning it on, and just trying to leave it there. While this was a great idea in theory, my pelvic floor muscles would inevitably clench, pushing the toy out. Thereā€™s nothing like watching in horror as vibrator ejects out of your cunt[2]While still buzzing along cheerfully, like nothing had ever happened. Rude. and lands 2 feet away, getting lube everywhere.

Overall

Despite its literal shortcomings, I still love the Rocks Off Chaiamo. Thanks to its strength and versatility, this has become one of my staples for both solo and partnered sex. I recommend this bullet vibrator to beginners and power enthusiasts alike.

I purchased this toy myself, and was not compensated in the form of cash or a free toy.

Update, 6/9/2021: After a year and a half of extensive use, my Chaiamo bit the dust. With that said, I still think it’s a great toy for the price point and plan on buying a replacement!
